    Course description

    In this course, we will be discussing all the important concepts related to references and citations. We will begin with some key topics like the concept of citation, reference, bibliography, and annotated bibliography. We also will focus on how researchers can avoid plagiarism and share some tips on a literature survey should be conducted.

    We will then move on to when researchers should consider providing citations and what aspects of an article do not require citations. We will then move on to the popular citations styles that are used for referencing such as the APA and Vancouver style of referencing. We finally will discuss some of the popular tools and software that are used for reference management such as Mendeley, EndNote, and Zotero.

    At the end of the course, students and researchers would have increased awareness of the following aspects:

    1. Better understanding of the concept of references and citations,
    2. Avoiding plagiarism by effectively using references and citations,
    3. Understanding of the popular styles used for referencing such as APA and Vancouver
    4. Usage of reference management tools like Mendeley, EndNote, and Zotero
